Giovanni Quattrocchi has graduated in Physical Oceanography. He attended the Doctorate School of Scienze della Terra (Earth Science) at the University of Naples “Federico II” and he received his Ph. D. in Scienze ed Ingegneria del Mare (Ocean Science and Engeenering) in the beginning of 2011. Since May 2013 he hold a post-doctoral position at the Italian National Research Council where he is working on coastal oceanography with finite element modelling and experimental setup at Coastal and Marine Environment division. In 2011 he hold a one-year post-doctoral position for Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in Toulouse, where he has been working on ocean modelling and data assimilation at the Mercator-Ocean laboratories. Later, in 2012 he was working on ocean and atmosphere modeling at Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Climate Changes (CMCC). The main scientific interest of Giovanni is the study of physical processes in oceanography, at basin and coastal scales by using numerical models and experimental setup. An interdisciplinary approach with related earth science disciplines is favoured.
Wave monitoring with Acoustic Wave and Current Meter (AWAC) or Wave Recorder for dynamic geomorphology studies. |
